Welcome to the Reflections

Phenomenal Woman Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size. But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies. I say, It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step. The curl of my lips. I'm a Woman Phenomenally Phenomenal Woman That's Me. I walk into a room just as cool as you please. And to a man, the fellows stand or fall down to their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees. I say, It's in the fire in my eyes The flash in my teeth, The swing in my waist And the joy in my feet. I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal Woman That's Me. Men themselves have wondered What they see in me. They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them, They say they still don't see. I say, It's in the arch of my back, The sun of my smile, The ride of my breasts, The grace of my style. I'm a Woman Phenomenally Phenomenal Woman That's Me. Now you understand Just why my head's not bowed. I don't shout or jump about Or have to talk real loud. When you see me passing It ought to make you proud. I say, It's in the click of my heels, The bend of my hair, The palm of my hand, the need of my care. 'Cause I'm a Woman. Phenomenally Phenomenal Woman That's Me. Author....Maya Angelou

The following poem is Dedicated to my Soul Mate... He will always be with me in Spirit... He will forever be in my heart...... ~ ~ ~ ~

"A million times we've needed you A million times we've cried If love alone could have saved you You never would have died. If all the world was ours to give We would give it, yes and more To see you coming up the steps And walking through the door. To hear your voice, to see your smile To sit and talk with you a while. To be with you the same old way Would be our fondest kind of day. A heart of gold stopped beating Two smiling eyes closed to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the Best."

Always Near As you walk along the lakeshore And I am no longer with you, Let no tears fall or sorrow prevail. When you see your reflection shimmer in the water Smile and know that I see your smile. When you feel the cool grass beneath your feet And the sun's warmth upon your back, Know that I feel it also. When you hear the leaves rustling in the wind, Know it is my voice softly whispering to you. When you see a butterfly dancing among flowers Know that I am dancing also. When you gently touch a puppy's soft fur, Know that I too feel your touch. When the wind swirls across your skin, Know it is I who carresses you. When you love another, Know that I too feel your love. These words are truth, my love Have faith, my love As long as beauty lives upon the earth And in the stars And love lives in every beat of every heart So then do I So then do we all. ~~~~Diane Wolfsong~~~~

Always remember to forget The things that made you sad. But never forget to remember The things that made you glad. Always rmember to forget The friends that proved untrue. But don't forget to remember Those that have stuck by you. Always remember to forget The troubles that have passed away. But never forget to remember The blessings that come each day. ~~~Author Unknown~~~

Take a Quiet Journey Take a quiet jouney To that peaceful place inside. Find the quiet calm within you Like the ocean's constant tide. Take a quiet journey From your hurried, hectic pace, And give yourself a rest From every worry that you face. Take a quiet journey, And it's certain, if you do, The calm that you've been searching for Will journey back to you. I know you lead a busy life With all the things you do, But I'm wishing you a little time To find the peaceful you. ~~Emily Mathews~~

THE DASH I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth And spoke of the of the following date with tears; But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time She spent alive on earth, And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we own; The cars....the house...the cash. What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard... Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left. (You could be at "dash mid-range.") If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real, And always try to understand The way other people feel, And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more, And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before; If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile... Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy's being read With your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash? ~ The author of this poem is Linda Ellis.

.."Soulmates".. How will I know thee.... I will speak your thought You will know my mind. I will touch your heart You will speed my beat. I will fire your soul You will lift my spirit. I will hold your hand You will warm my touch. I will smell your fragrance You will whiff my scent. I will taste your lips You will brush my cheek. I will be as you You will be as me Now you will know me ~~ Poem Copyright...CCRuss~~

Attitude The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on my life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...... a church.....a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is change our Attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you.... We are in charge of our Attitudes. ~~~Charles Swindoll~~~

New Dawn Early in the morning, Before sparrow starts his song, I thank God for yesterday, And pray that I'll be strong. I wish for tomorrow, And the morrows to come. But I live for today, And I'll beat my own drum. I welcome this day, And the lessons I'll reap. I shall gather them all, And on them I'll sleep. So when next morning comes, And I rise from my bed, Those lessons I learned, Will be there in my head. Each day as it passes, Is precious to me. Even the roar of the thunder, And the lightining I see. It's all part of God, It's clear don't you see, For God is in you, And also in me. ~~~Wind Walker~~~

To My Dad I am the child of your restless, wandering spirit, I am the daughter of your bright, elusive dreams. I was a symphony when only you could hear it. I have become a song now, a melody which seems So sweet and true, but wanders lonely as the night wind, Wild as the howling wolves, and gentle as a sigh. I was the bright pinacle on whom your hopes were pinned. I was the rocks where they were dashed as the years flew by. I know, sometimes, that I elude your understanding. For me, you wish the peace you missed when you were young. But you and I have gypsy souls that keep expanding, Till from them, every sweet and bitter drop of life is wrung. No, not for us the peaceful waters overflowing, Rather the champagne of joy, the dark wine of despair. Our wisdom is born of the pain that comes with growing, Our courage comes from knowing that to win we have to dare. Oh, father of my flesh and blood, parent of my mind, It is only miles which make us seem so far apart..... I am the same as you in my wanderlust; I find Your restless wandering spirit always in my heart. Rachael Cranston December 4, 1978

REFLECTIONS

Clear Eyes Chant

May my eyes be opened to see the Path before me. May the way be clear. May my feet be quick to walk the Path before me. May the Way be clear. May my spirit know the Within Path. May the Way be clear and my Eyes be open.

On The Street........

On the street I saw a naked child, hungry and shivering in the cold. I became angry and said to God: "Why do you permit this? Why don't you do something?"

For a while God said nothing. That night he replied. He said: "I certainly did something. I made you." ~~ Anonymous ~~

If you think you are beaten, you are If you think you dare not, you don't If you like to win but think you can't It's almost certain that you won't

Life's battles don't always go To the stronger woman or man But sooner or later, those who win Are those who think they Can ~~~ Unknown ~~~

My Name is I AM

I was regretting the past and fearing the future. Suddenly my Lord was speaking:

"My name is I AM." He paused. I waited. He continued.

"When you live in the past with it's mistakes and regrets, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I Was.

When you live in the future, with it's problems and fears, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I Will Be.

When you live in this moment, it is not hard. I am HERE. My name is I AM." ~~~Helen Mallicoat~~~

Three Things

The Sending

I didn't ask you to step into my life You didn't look at me at all the other night I stared at you, you didn't look back for a while Then I though love at you, and I saw a smile.

Prayer of Love

Sometimes I pray that you will always Bethe way you always are a part of me. 'Cause if I lost you to the wiles of chance Then I may cease to be.

Softness

Think of things soft and warm Lying in front of a fire on furs. Feel the softness With every nerve of your arms, your back, your legs. Roll and feel the warmth of the fire Touching your entire being. Enjoy your senses Smell the wine And take a sip of Life. ~~~Wind Walker~~~

When God gave out brains I thought he said trains And I missed mine. When God gave out looks I thought he said books and I didn't want any. When God gave out noses I thought he said roses And I asked for a red one. When God gave out legs I thought he said cakes And I asked for two round ones. When God gave out chins I thought he said gins And I ordered a double. When God gave out heads I thought he said beds And I asked for a soft one. Since then I've been trying to Listen Better Now. ***********************

QUOTES

"Life's a banquet, and most poor bastards are starving to death!" From "Auntie Mame"

You have to live life To love life, And you have love life To live life.

Everyday holds the possibility of a Miracle.

A contented person is one who enjoys the scenery along the detours.

If a Question is Food for Thought, Now you know what Consciousness eats for breakfast.

"You're never a Loser Until you Quit Trying!" ~~Mike Ditka~~ Complaining about your problems takes up much more time than solving them. A quiet friend may sometimes be a desirable friend. The urge to quit is the signal that an opportunity to excel is at hand. Be strong and you can bend. Be rigid and you will break. Personality is in the clothing; character is in the soul. The map of progress has no straight roads.
